As I arrived into the Yosemite Valley at late evening, the moon broke the horizon. The blueish moonlight filtered through the trees as I drove up to the Tunnel View area to enjoy and photograph a still time lapse night scene. It was nice not to be in any hurry as I watched the moon shift higher in the sky. The special delight that I had never seen before was all the cliff camping lights twinkling all over El Capitan’s nearly vertical cliff face! This was the secret sauce of this image... all while the pale light angled higher and fog began to crawl into the valley floor below in one of America’s most epic parks...
